1. Exposición de Arte – “Alas de Esperanza”

Treinta y cuatro artistas guatemaltecos intervinieron piezas originales bajo la temática “Alas de Esperanza”, transformándolas en obras que estarán disponibles para la venta. La actividad es gratuita e incluye un espacio con boquitas para los asistentes.
2. Festival Gastronómico – “Pizza All You Can Eat”
Domingo 7 de diciembre – Desde las 12:00 PM

This activity is held to benefit the social works developed by both Rotary clubs in favor of education, housing, and the well-being of vulnerable communities in the western region of the country.
With the support of renowned brands such as Botran, Carnes San Martín, La Cuisine, Mariner, Honda, Parma, Nativo, Insoft, Saborología, and Waterbear, among others, the BBQ Challenge is consolidated as one of the most important philanthropic activities in the region, combining gastronomy, family togetherness, and social commitment.
Starting at noon, attendees can enjoy an "All You Can Eat" event, where 20 grilling teams will compete amicably to offer the best meat preparations, seasonings, and flavors. The event will feature live music, a family area, and spaces designed for enjoyment in a safe, cheerful, and purposeful environment.

Esta actividad se realiza a beneficio de las obras sociales que desarrollan ambos clubes rotarios en favor de la educación, la vivienda y el bienestar de comunidades vulnerables en el occidente del país.
Con el respaldo de reconocidas marcas como Botran, Carnes San Martín, La Cuisine, Mariner, Honda, Parma, Nativo, Insoft, Saborología y Waterbear, entre otras, el BBQ Challenge se consolida como una de las actividades filantrópicas más importantes de la región, combinando gastronomía, convivencia familiar y compromiso social.
A partir del mediodía, los asistentes podrán disfrutar de una jornada tipo “All You Can Eat”, donde 20 equipos parrilleros competirán amistosamente por ofrecer las mejores preparaciones de carne, sazones y sabores.
El evento contará con música en vivo, área familiar y espacios diseñados para disfrutar en un ambiente seguro, alegre y con propósito.

Local Job Creation and Community Support
The Club's opening has generated 133 direct jobs, with 95% of the positions filled by locally hired talent. Additionally, approximately 150 indirect jobs were created during the construction phase. The new roles range from operational staff to supervisors and managers.
Through the "Learning and Growing" social impact program, the PriceSmart Foundation has already formed partnerships with four public schools in the area. This initiative will benefit over 2,700 students by providing them with school supplies, teaching materials for educators, and hygiene products. The program also actively promotes reading by creating school libraries and training teachers to improve students' literacy skills.
Furthermore, PriceSmart is launching an initiative in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and the "Hogares Guatemala" program to support families in San Juan Ostuncalco, within the Quetzaltenango Department. Victoria Kjaer Theilvig had a significant and very positive impact when she visited Guatemala. Her reception was truly high-impact in the highland city, in the "Luna de Xelaju," Quetzaltenango.
No one expected the tremendous surprise she would give us all. She wore the ceremonial costume, Ixcap and Nimpot, from Quetzaltenango and wore it very well. She surprised the population with her warmth, humility, and simplicity. She even moved a bodyguard's hand who wanted to prevent a child from hugging her, a gesture that showed her humility. She took photos and gave autographs to people and shared that warm moment with the people of Quetzaltenango.
Victoria would receive the keys to the city, as well as a commemorative coin for the 500th anniversary of the city of Quetzaltenango and a recognition as a distinguished guest, in the Hall of Honor of the Municipality of Quetzaltenango, along with the then Miss Universe Guatemala and Miss Latin America of the World.

La nueva corona de Miss Universe Guatemala es un homenaje brillante al alma de Quetzaltenango
Diseñada por artesanos guatemaltecos, la corona oficial de Miss Universe Guatemala 2025 es una joya sin precedentes: montada sobre plata, engastada con cristales finos y enriquecida con jade guatemalteco, rinde homenaje a Quetzaltenango y a la tradición ancestral del país.
El próximo 12 de julio en Quetzaltenango, la nueva Miss Universe Guatemala será coronada con una joya única que celebra el alma, la tradición y la belleza de nuestro país. La corona oficial de Miss Universe Guatemala 2025 ha sido diseñada y elaborada por los reconocidos artesanos guatemaltecos Rubén y Gilda Pérez, del taller Jade y Plata Joyas Exclusivas Pérez Jiménez, ubicado en Jocotenango, Sacatepéquez.
Esta pieza excepcional es mucho más que un accesorio: es un símbolo de identidad nacional, que entrelaza la riqueza de nuestras raíces con el arte tradicional guatemalteco. La corona fue creada como un homenaje a Quetzaltenango, sede del certamen de este año, e incorpora tres lunas de jade verde talladas a mano, inspiradas en la emblemática canción “Luna de Xelajú”, ícono de amor, nostalgia y tradición que une a todos los guatemaltecos.
Montada sobre una estructura plateada elegante, la corona resplandece con cristales finos que le dan luz, brillo y movimiento. Pero su verdadero tesoro se encuentra en las más de 80 piedras de jade, cuidadosamente talladas a mano por Rubén y Gilda Pérez con técnicas ancestrales y un profundo amor por Guatemala.

Guatemala will start with a home match in the first phase in September, then will have three consecutive away matches in both September and October, and the last two matches will be at home in November, where qualification could be decided.
The Bicolor faces the difficult task of overcoming its rivals to secure first place in its group for direct qualification. But it won't be easy, as the favorite for the top spot and the World Cup ticket is Panama, the team with the highest ranking in the region.
The Panamanians are considered favorites, with exponential growth and several notable results, including finishing as runners-up in the last Nations League.
Given this scenario, Guatemala must capitalize on their away games against El Salvador and Suriname, as well as aim to secure all three points in their home matches. Although the last time Guatemala played Panama was at the Doroteo Guamuch Flores stadium, it resulted in a draw. However, the Chapín national team has good possibilities of securing one of the playoff spots, as they can and should overcome El Salvador and Suriname.
Could the national team play their home matches at the Mario Camposeco stadium and leverage the altitude to defeat their rivals, who are accustomed to warmer climates?
The venues have not yet been made official, but this possibility has always been considered, although there has been no official statement from the Guatemalan Football Federation.
Altitude could be a key factor in favor of the national team. Everything plays a part: the climate, the altitude, and the fans. However, it's most likely that the home matches will be played at Cementos Progreso, unless the renovation of the Doroteo Guamuch Flores National Stadium is ready in time to host those matches.
If so, there would be a luxury stadium befitting the current state of Guatemalan football, offering a better chance with the pressure of a larger crowd cheering on the team.
Our prediction is that Guatemala can win their home matches, at least against El Salvador and Suriname, accumulating six points, and secure an extra point with a draw against Panama. They could also draw in San Salvador and Suriname, adding two points, totaling nine accumulated points, and the match against Panama might be lost due to the Panamanian team's home advantage and strength.
A total of nine points, in our opinion, could be enough to qualify as one of the best second-place teams and secure one of the two available playoff spots. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments.
