Salcajá Dresses Up for the Inauguration of the Mural "El Silencio en Toque de Queda 2020"

SALCAJÁ, QUETZALTENANGO – The Municipality of Salcajá has the honor of inviting the media and the general public to the official inauguration and unveiling ceremony of the pictorial work titled "El Silencio en Toque de Queda 2020," created by the renowned Guatemalan artist Sergio Alvarado alongside his work team.

The event will take place this coming Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 06:00 PM in the Lobby of the Salcajá Convention Center.


This artistic piece seeks to offer a reflective look at the events experienced during the year 2020, capturing through Alvarado’s brush the stillness and social impact of that historical period.

The activity will feature the presence of Maestro Sergio and his work team, family members, municipal authorities, and special guests, reaffirming the current administration's commitment to the promotion of art, culture, and citizen unity under the motto of service to the people.

Behind the visual impact of the mural "The Silence During the 2020 Curfew" is a dedicated team of collaborators. Pictured from right to left are: artist Quetzaly Alvarado; primary school teacher Mildred Estrada de Alvarado; artista Sergio Alvarado, artist Melvin Tajiboy Juárez; and Carlos Ordoñez, Professor of Visual Arts.
