Bantrab: The New Official Sponsor of the Guatemalan National Football League

Guatemala, Thursday, January 8, 2026. As part of the celebrations for its 60th anniversary promoting the integral well-being of Guatemalans, and under the conviction that #FootballUnitesUs as a tool to contribute to the country's sporting and social development, Bantrab becomes the official sponsor of the Guatemalan National Football League.

This strategic alliance, effective for the next three years, is part of Bantrab's Well-being Strategy. Through its three pillars—Financial, Social & Development, and Digital—it seeks to bring its institutional purpose to life. "We believe in the value of people and their work; our purpose is their well-being and their future," expressed General Manager José Antonio Roca.


Through the Social & Development Pillar and the creation of its Strategic Clusters in 2023, Bantrab has impacted more than 970,000 people to date through various programs and actions such as:

  •   Personalized advisory services
  •   Training in financial education, sports, and health
  •   Debt consolidation
  •   Sports activities (football and cycling)
  •   GuateAprende courses and specializations
  •   "La Cantera de Guate" (Guate's Youth Academy), with over 90 affiliated academies


Consequently, and to bring more well-being to Guatemalans, the Financial Group launched its campaign "Everyone is Called" (Todos estamos convocados) to announce its support for the Guatemalan National Football League.

"Since 2016, when we began a deep transformation process, Bantrab has focused on building solidity and fostering transparency. For this reason, and identifying that football unites us, we decided to foster sports to promote integral well-being. Therefore, today we are excited to present LA LIGA BANTRAB," commented Jesús Pineda, Bantrab’s Strategic Clusters Manager.


La Liga Bantrab was born as a comprehensive initiative aimed at strengthening national football based on strategic pillars that drive the country's sporting, social, and financial development, focusing on:

  •  TRAINING: Financial education; sports with international partners (Real Madrid, River Plate, Argentinos Juniors); Health (Abbott, Bantrab Insurance, GuateAprende).
  •   TECHNOLOGY: VAR implementation; digitization of tickets and payments; online information (teams, players, data).
  •   YOUTH DIVISIONS: Scouting; access to international experiences; football academies.
  •  FINANCIAL: Savings; insurance; credit cards; "BanConsejos" (Advisory).
  •  SOCIAL IMPACT: Social integration; values (anti-racism, non-violence); "Return to the Stadium" campaign; academic and sports scholarships; sports internships; recognition programs.

Because football begins with a ball, Bantrab reaffirms its commitment to this sport by also supporting various categories and disciplines throughout the country—Liga Bantrab, second and third divisions, departmental associations, national teams, beach soccer, futsal, and women's football—through the provision of balls and proper equipment.

"From street matches to professional training, the ball remains the axis that connects dreams, discipline, and well-being," added Pineda.


Thus, Bantrab confirms that football is not just played: it is lived, shared, and unites us.
