The McDonald's Family Race will be held for the fourth time in Quetzaltenango on Sunday, March 1.
Quetzaltenango, February 19, 2026. – McDonald's announces the fourth edition of its Family Race in Quetzaltenango, an event blending sports, community, and solidarity that has become a local family favorite.
The race starts at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 1. Around 2,000 runners will hit the streets of the "Altense" city, competing in 5K and 10K categories for both children and adults.
Route & Registration
- Route: Starts at McDonald's La Floresta, passing 4th Street, Minerva Temple, and Rodolfo Robles Street, turning at McDonald's Montblanc to finish back at the start.
- Cost: Q150 per person (children and adults).
- How to join: Available at any McDonald's restaurant, Drive-Thru, or via the McDonald's App while supplies last.
- Race Kit: Includes an official t-shirt, visor, bag, and timing chip. Medals are awarded at the finish line.
- Kit Pickup: Friday, Feb 27 and Saturday, Feb 28 (9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) at Centro Comercial Paulinos.
Racing for a Cause
All proceeds will support social causes benefiting Guatemalan children. In Quetzaltenango, donations will go to the Damas Rotarias de Quetzaltenango.

Guatemala City Event: February 22
Additionally, the 11th edition of the Family Race takes place in Guatemala City this Sunday, February 22, with 7,000 runners. That route starts at Avenida Reforma (Zone 10) and benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
