Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, Miss Universe, wore the ceremonial costume, Ixcap and Nimpot, from Quetzaltenango.
Victoria Kjaer Theilvig had a significant and very positive impact when she visited Guatemala. Her reception was truly high-impact in the highland city, in the "Luna de Xelaju," Quetzaltenango.
No one expected the tremendous surprise she would give us all. She wore the ceremonial costume, Ixcap and Nimpot, from Quetzaltenango and wore it very well. She surprised the population with her warmth, humility, and simplicity. She even moved a bodyguard's hand who wanted to prevent a child from hugging her, a gesture that showed her humility. She took photos and gave autographs to people and shared that warm moment with the people of Quetzaltenango.
Victoria would receive the keys to the city, as well as a commemorative coin for the 500th anniversary of the city of Quetzaltenango and a recognition as a distinguished guest, in the Hall of Honor of the Municipality of Quetzaltenango, along with the then Miss Universe Guatemala and Miss Latin America of the World.
"What an honor to receive the keys to the city! These keys will be remembered in my heart as the keys to hearts, because that is what this city has taught me, love and humility," Victoria said after this reception.
Victoria took official photos for Miss Universe's social media at the Municipal Palace of Quetzaltenango during her visit to Xela, after receiving the keys to the city. Her message was as follows:
"Every step in Guatemala has felt like a reminder of where I’ve been and where I’m headed. 🤍"
"Cada paso en Guatemala se ha sentido como recordatorio de dónde he estado y hacia dónde voy. 🤍"
After traveling to Santa Catarina Pinula to visit social projects in that municipality, she consoled a woman who was overcome with emotion and cried upon seeing her, as well as her daughter. And not to mention, she managed to raise over $7000 or 60,000 quetzales for the Hogar de Varones de la Misericordia (Home for Boys of Mercy) in Quetzaltenango, at a charity breakfast.
A Hug That Broke Protocol and Conquered Hearts in Guatemala! ❤️🇬🇹

And as if that weren't enough, she also shared a warm hug with the little girl, the woman's daughter, sealing an unforgettable moment.
The official Miss Universe account itself shared this magical moment with a message that resonated in the souls of many: "Guatemala showed me that following your heart, even if it means breaking the rules, is always worth it. Thank you for your beautiful people and the love that embraced me so fully."
This is not just a video; it's a lesson in empathy, a reminder that the simplest gestures can have the most profound impact. A moment that, without a doubt, will be etched in the heart of Guatemala and the world!
Without a doubt. The visit of Victoria, the current Miss Universe, to Xela and Guatemala marked a before and after in celebrity visits to the country.
Her warmth, humility, simplicity, and kindness demonstrated that not only beauty is key to reaching the top, but also the human and internal part of a person's heart is fundamental to reaching the summit, in this case, the hearts of people.
Victoria won the hearts of all Quetzaltecos and Guatemalans in general. Her actions resonated internationally. The videos of her showing these gestures of love went viral on all social networks, all over the world. Thus marking what we dare to consider is Victoria's best visit to any country on her tour of Central and Latin America, as well as her journey through more than 20 countries since her reign began. We wish her the best on her journey and that she continues to achieve many more successes in her life.
