Today we will briefly talk about the box office results for the last week in the United States. So, sit back and enjoy.
We start with number one, which to no one's surprise is still Minecraft. The live-action movie of the popular game grossed over $78 million this weekend alone, domestically in the United States.
In the accumulated box office since the film's release, it has already grossed over $278 million. Internationally, the film has so far grossed over $273 million, for a total accumulated gross of over $552 million to date. It is expected that this production will probably exceed one billion dollars in the coming months.
A pleasant surprise was the adaptation of Charles Dickens' book, "King of Kings," an animated film that narrates the life of Jesus Christ, which ranked second this weekend with a gross of over $19 million in the United States.
In third place was "The Amateur," an action and spy film starring Rami Malek, which grossed over $14 million in the United States.
Joining the list in order of box office revenue this weekend are the following films: "Warfare" with over $8 million, "Drop" with over $7 million, "The Chosen: Last Supper Part 3" with over $6 million, "A Working Man" with over $3 million, "Snow White" with over $2.8 million, "The Woman In the Yard" with over $2 million, and rounding out the list is "The Chosen: Last Supper Part 2" with over $961 thousand, almost reaching one million dollars.
